Introduction

Welcome to our first online edition of ‘Inside View’ – your community newsletter for Lightsview. We look forward to delivering more regular updates and information to our Lightsview Community, keeping you connected and in the know of what is happening in and around Lightsview.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all our residents and purchasers at Lightsview. We hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and have enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  The Lightsview Resident and Purchasers Christmas Party drew quite a crowd – as we enjoyed a Christmas drink and gourmet barbecue.

As with all our community events – it was a great opportunity to meet other residents who are living at or going to live at Lightsview.  The Community Development Manager, Kylie Harrison said “it was a great event to kick start what will be an exciting year filled with community events in 2012” adding that “by meeting the residents and purchasers in Lightsview gives a great insight into what type of events people are looking for, as the community continues to grow”.

Summer Festival

Community events at Lightsview for 2012 kicked off with our increasingly popular Lightsview Summer Festival Program.

With twilight movies every Friday night throughout January, a Cycle SA Rendition Homes cycling criterion race and the ever popular Annual Lightsview Summer Festival day – there was been plenty on for the community to enjoy the outdoors and celebrate living in Lightsview. We are already looking forward to our next Lightsview Summer Festival for 2013.

In the meantime, be sure to keep checking the noticeboards at the Sales and Information Centre and the Community Hub for more exciting community events at Lightsview througout 2012.

Community Information Sessions

We want to be able to offer our community the opportunity to not only meet other people within Lightsview but learn more about how to live more sustainably, live actively, and be educated on a whole range of topics. We are currently preparing our timetable for 2012, securing some interesting speakers on different topics. As soon as these are confirmed, a timetable with dates and times will be released.

Showcasing local home businesses

If you have a home business you want to promote, get in touch with us, and see how we can help you. We can help you promote your home business by offering you a venue to hold your demonstration in, and promote it in our future newsletters. Make an appointment with Kylie Harrison, your Community Development Manager on 8261 1888, so she can help organise the event for you.

Our first local home business to be showcased will be 'Enjo' on 20 March 2012. Contact Kylie Harrison for further information on 8261 1888.

2012 Resident Welcome Nights

For all new residents to Lightsview, this is a perfect opportunity to get to know a bit more about your new community, and most importantly, meet others who live in Lightsview. To register to attend our first Resident Welcome Night for 2012.

The first Resident Welcome Night for 2012 will be held on Wednesday 29 February at the Community Hub, which is located adjacent to the Lightsview Sales and Information Centre on the corner of Folland Avenue and Fosters Road, Northgate.

Easter Twilight Movie

Yes - we are already planning Easter !!

This year we will be hosting an Easter twilight movie for all the family to enjoy.

Mark Wednesday 4 April 2012 in your diaries for a family fun evening including a jumping castle, a special appearance by the Easter Bunny before sitting down to enjoy the family movie "Hop".

...that the Lightsview Cycle Plan, which has been designed specifically with you – the Lightsview Resident – in mind, is now available?

Promoting healthy living is one of Lightsview’s key mottos, and the Lightsview Cycle Plan is no exception to this. Giving residents and the general local community a choice of cycle routes into the Adelaide CBD - the Lightsview Cycle map will be one of your 'don't leave home without it' items. Why not plan a family ride into the city on a weekend sometime soon?

To help get you started - Lightsview will soon be offering Cycling Education sessions in conjunction with Bike SA for all skill levels. Be sure to check the ‘What’s On’ notices located at the Sales and Information Centre and Community Hub for further information and dates.
